Statement of Intent
For my posters, I will make definite that there is no
material which can breach the rules set by the ASA. I will make sure that my
posters do not contain graphic or violent content to ensure that there is no
fear or distress felt from my posters. The reason this is a main priority as should
the posters be advertised on billboards and within densely populated areas, it
could very well be seen by young people in particular children, which could
therefore lead to backlash and upset. My documentary is suitable for before the
watershed as it’s based around non-league football so it can be viewed by all
ages.
For my documentary to be interesting for an audience, there
must be a portrayal of not just the positives but the negatives also. I intend
for the full portrayal of non-league, not just the players perspective but the
manager also. As the documentary will be represented from these perspectives,
they will be featured on my posters as they will appear as the main focuses
within the documentary. They will both appear doing stereotypical things, the
player within a game on the football pitch whilst the manager is on the side
lines making orders. I hope to accurately represent the highs and lows of
non-league football from a managers and players perspective.
My documentary intends to appeal to an age range of 16-25 by
featuring younger people upon the posters to help appeal to this age bracket,
such as young non-league footballers. This will help appeal to my audience as
it can make parts of the young players perspective seem more relatable and
helps create a sense of representation. As well as this, the ‘trend’ of lower
league English football has gradually been becoming increasingly popular due to
factors like social media, this would therefore be popular amongst those
looking for more realism outside of social media as well as those who are fans
of football, not just non-league particularly.
